Claire Boan

From local to state – for you

You’ve spoken, I’ve heard:

My top 10 priorities for Port Adelaide >

  • Victoria Road and major intersections addressed
  • Understanding the Dolphin Sanctuary and addressing the decline of our wildlife
  • Addressing local needs related to the growth of Defence
  • Return the pontoons at Queens Wharf
  • Rosewater/Ottoway Loop Path to be completed as promised at the last election
  • Prioritise our maritime history and vessels
  • Bringing regular buses back to Semaphore and along the peninsula
  • Pedestrian rail crossing at the Port Dock Line near the Aviation Museum
  • Improving the regularity of our rail service
  • Lengthen the Semaphore and Largs Bay jetties, to support tourism and local business.

My greatest priority of all is listening and learning from the People of the Port and Peninsula.

Claire is a local

I am a proud local who has lived and worked in the Port and Peninsula for more than 20 years. This is my community. It’s where I’ve built my career, raised my family, and worked every day to make our area a better place to live.

For 15 years, I had the privilege of representing our community as a Councillor and Mayor of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield. In that time, I became known as a strong, practical advocate who gets results. I understand how government works and how to make it listen. Alongside this, I am a primary school teacher and have spent most of my career in local classrooms and leadership roles, giving me firsthand experience of the challenges facing families, schools, and essential services.

Claire is a leader

My husband and I are raising our three children here. They attend a local school and are active in sporting clubs. Like many families, we care deeply about the future of this community. Not just for today, but for generations to come.

I believe our community deserves a government that listens and delivers. For too long, Port Adelaide has been taken for granted and overlooked. As an independent, I am not tied to party politics or party deals. That means I can speak up, challenge the status quo, and fight for what our community needs without compromise.

Claire is a supporter

My priorities are clear and driven by what I hear from locals every day:

Securing local jobs and backing local businesses

Addressing cost-of-living pressures so families can get ahead

Encouraging growth that respects our history and heritage

Protecting our unique and precious coastal environment

I have a proven record of genuine community consultation and responsiveness. As Mayor, I worked constructively with all sides of government to deliver real outcomes because collaboration and common sense achieve more than political point-scoring.

I am ready to take this experience forward and be a strong, independent voice for the Port and Peninsula. I will always listen first, put people ahead of politics, and make sure our community is no longer forgotten.
